不知各位少侠发现没有：有时简单地从汉语字面意思来看，是看不出该用基数词还是序数词的，比如本次即将学习的生日表达，是该用基数词还是序数呢？


一、用英语表示生日的常用方法

中文说“三十岁生日”“六十大寿”等，其实指的是过第30个生日，过第60个生日哦，所以要用序数词！

比如：今天是我爷爷的60大寿。

Today is my grandfather's sixty birthday.（✖️）

Today is my grandfather's sixtieth birthday.（✔️）

再比如：下周一，我就满十八岁啦～～

Next Monday I am going to have my eighteen birthday.（✖️）

Next Monday I am going to have my eighteenth birthday.（✔️）

所以呢，生日得用序数词；那本菌十八岁又怎么表达呢？


二、年龄的表达方式

1). 一般直接用基数词表示，如：

I am eighteen.

Her daughter is twelve.

2). 用基数词+years old表示，有时可将years old 换成years of age。如：

I am eighteen years old.
= I am eighteen years of age.

My father is fifty years old.
= My father is fifty years of age.

3). 用基数词-year-old表示，此结构常做(前置)定语。如：

Her 18-year-old daughter is now in the university.

I have a five-year-old son.

4). 用at the age of+基数词，表示在……年龄”。如：

I went to school at the age of four.

I went to work at the age of eighteen.

5). 用in one's +几十的复数形式，表示某人几十岁的年龄。如：

He went to the United States in his fifties.

In his twenties he gave up medicine and turned to politics.
在他二十几岁时，他弃医从政。

6). 用of + 基数词表示，此结构常做后置定语。如：

Her daughter is now a pretty girl of eighteen.
她女儿现在是一个18岁的美少女了。

7). 用aged +基数词表示，此结构常做后置定语。如：

Lying on the floor was a boy aged seven.
躺在地板上的是一个七岁的男孩。
